This webinar explains the basics of finance for non-finance professionals and covers key accounting and finance essentials and concepts: the basic accounting equation, accrual-based accounting, and basic accounting principles.

It explores business finance, including how business transactions affect financial statements and the bottom line. You’ll walk through the four-step accounting process, and you’ll learn the fundamental principles of cash flow management and the four types of financial risk.

We’ll also look at the most basic of all finance tasks; the budget. You’ll learn to identify the characteristics of an effective budget, the stages in planning one, and how to distinguish between budget types. This workshop is brought to you by Business Station and AusIndustry under the ASBAS Digital Solutions Program

Dante St James is a sought-after digital trainer and coach due to his work with Facebook Australia, Google’s Digital Springboard program and various Australian Government programs including ASBAS Digital Solutions, BeConnected and Stay Smart Online.

But Dante is also a small business owner himself, having built his own digital agency and startup support network in regional Australia. After facing business failure in the past, he was careful this time to involve bookkeepers and accountants early on in his business journey – as well as making sure that he understood the key concepts of what those roles are performed, and how he could ensure that he would always be aware of what was happening financially.
