Newsletter – July 2019
“Welcome back…”
What a month!!  To give you an indication, I was on 9 flights in June alone. Our exciting business travels took us to Sydney, Canberra, Denpasar, Jakarta, Alice Springs and Gold Coast and eventually back to Darwin.

I attended the Tradestart conference in Sydney with the fabulous Belinda Hayes and Jenny Graham from Austrade, where we got to do a deeper dive into export strategy for the NT and how we are going to deliver for NT Businesses in the export arena.  Treeti is excited to be working with Joel Smouha and Sammi Hosseini and the Darwin Austrade team.

The same week I was fortunate to be invited to attend the Australian China Business Council (ACBC) conference in Canberra where Peter Styles (former Federal Minister Trade and Investment) and I represented the NT at the annual Canberra Networking Day.  Peter and I really enjoyed the conference speakers and came away with some great ideas to implement and new contacts to follow up for NT businesses in the China market.

Rose Felice and I were off to Jakarta via Bali as the guest of Australian Indonesian Business Council (AIBC) President Linda Reeves.  We had three (3) days of meetings with Ministers from Economic Affairs, Department of Small Business and Hotel, Restaurant and Employee Associations.  All in all, a very productive and worthwhile visit to Indonesia cementing relationships for further business down the track.

Big shout out to Dante St James and Jack Cameron who did a fabulous job with Jill Bottrall and Cassie Norton on the NBNCo and Treeti Road Trip from Alice to Darwin speaking with NT businesses along the way about all things digital and broadband connectivity this month.

So, as we kick off into the next financial year we start to hit our stride with all our programs and private clients, ramping up for a big finish to end of the year.  From the team at Treeti we look forward to another month of supporting businesses in the Northern Territory

ASBAS – Australian Small Business Advisory Services
TREETI Business Consulting and NBN Co joined forces in July to assist remote and regional small businesses, and budding entrepreneurs ‘Along The Track’ build business capacity and capability.

We held a series of workshops and free drop in centres in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin.  These were specifically designed to help small businesses come away with not only the knowledge to assist their business but also the tools to make a few easy and small changes that could have an immediate impact.  ASBAS Advisors Dante and Jack were joined by Jill from NBN Co for an exhilarating week bringing connectivity through connection.

If you missed the roadshow events and want to get your business involved, head over to our events page to review what we have coming up.  Alternatively book in for a 1:1 Advisors session with one of our approved ASBAS Advisors to get your personalised Digital Engagement Plan.

If you aren’t sure where you should begin, contact support@treeti.com.au for guidance.
What’s news in Entrepreneurship?
IDEATION DAY WORKSHOP – Idea Generation and Validation

On the 20th June and 22nd July TREETI delivered its very first Ideation Days, as part of the Entrepreneurship Facilitator Service [Program]; a program funded by the Department of Jobs and Small Business.
This proved to be a creative and insightful two days for our group of budding entrepreneurs, looking to create and clarify business ideas. We also ran a follow up ‘Business Model Canvas Creation’ session on Wednesday 23rd July which was designed to put more structure around individual business ideas

The interactive sessions provided an opportunity for participants to go through the process of generating and validating new ideas or adapting and innovating existing ideas.
They learned new techniques on how to approach problems and find solutions; creating “out of the box” concepts and opportunities they would not have otherwise considered.

“Great day, didn’t know what to expect, but gave me different ways of looking at things.”
“Would love to come to all future workshops, I really enjoyed it.”
“Totally loved the group activities and out of the box way of looking at problems and creative solutions.”

If you would like more information on the workshops or the program and services, please contact our EFS Facilitator – Megan Holzfeind to RSVP your attendance today: megan@treeti.com.au.

You will often hear Treeti staff say “ohh they are one our favourite clients” and that is very true of Tregea.  We have been working with Wayne and Sharon Tregea for more than 2 years now, providing mentorship and infrastructure for growth for their Garden Maintenance and Landscaping business in Alice Springs.

Treeti has supported Sharon in leading the way in developing an innovative piece of technology which is an App for Tree Auditing, replacing reems of spread sheets with a simple app on every staff member phone.  Other exciting projects we have conducted with Wayne and Sharon is a new workflow management system, called Aroflow.  We are redesigning the way Tregea presents their financials and rearranged their Organizational Chart and HR Systems.

We love having Tregea as clients and wish them every success in the future!

Zoom and Your Business

Do you use Zoom in your business?  Zoom is a great, free program to host online meetings.  You can collaborate with people in other offices and locations seamlessly.  We use Zoom every day – especially with Lucy in Victoria, Natalie in Perth and Claire always on the move!  Visit zoom.us to create and account and get online today!

If you use Zoom regularly you could benefit from the Outlook plug in – meaning you can create meeting links from directly within your Outlook Calendar.  Lucy said this has saved her so much time with all of the appointment scheduling she does each day, and she actually finds it to be a simpler way to create the link!  If you would like help with anything Zoom related, book an ASBAS One on One with Lucy via the Adams portal link below and she can get you set up!
