Do you like working with Crocodiles and enjoy sharing the amazing experience of this reptile and the Northern Territory with tourists? We have the job for you!

Spectacular Crocodile Cruises, located on the Adelaide River just outside of Darwin, is the leading Crocodile tour in the NT.  We welcome tourists to the river and introduce them to the mighty crocs that call this stunning waterway home, showcasing the local area, flora and fauna.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Tour guide to join our growing team.

In this role you will join the Skipper onboard to conduct tours which run four times a day, taking guests on an immersive journey, interacting with the crocs and birds.

You will be working closely with the team to ensure guest needs are met.

This is a full-time role, working across a rotating roster, including weekends.

Essential Criteria

  • Tourism experience is a must.  We are a people orientated business, working with a diverse range of tourists and team members alike.
  • A good knowledge of NT wildlife and ecology and of Aboriginal culture 
  • Must be a team player within a small group
  • Confidence in working with crocodiles and tourists
  • A friendly personality
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to situations in an ever-changing environment
  • The ability to share skills, while also able to learn from others is a must.
  • Ochre Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Senior first aid
  • Own reliable transport

Desirable Criteria

  • Boat experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train someone with the ability and interest to learn.
  • Coxswains ticket
  • Experience driving twin screw boats

Mobile Phone Technician

iGear is an NT owned & operated retail store servicing local residents and tourists travelling though the Red Centre.  We sell an extensive range of mobile phones, accessories and related products as well as providing in-house repairs to phones, tablets & computer devices.

We are looking for a special person who can think on their feet, is able to multi-task and will be dedicated to fixing a wide range of devices for our customers.  The role would suit a technician who is already confident in repairing iPhone and Samsung phones but is interested to expand their knowledge to other phone models and other devices!

You will be joining an enthusiastic team and your skills will certainly be appreciated. No front sales is required as this role is dedicated to just repairs! This means on a day-to-day basis you will be expected to troubleshoot and repair phones, tablets & possibly other devices too!

Current experience in repairing mobile devices is definitely required for this role.    Microsoldering ability is not required, however an interest in learning these techniques would be highly desirable.

This position is full time.  Being available to work Mon-Fri 9am- 5.30pm plus Saturday mornings 9am-1pm will be required.

The role will include:

  • Using our computerised Job ticketing system to review repairs requested by customers.
  • Speaking with staff to clarify repair details if needed.
  • Troubleshooting & repairing a wide range of mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other devices. This may include replacing screens, charger ports, speakers, batteries, cameras & all small parts
  • Estimating and quoting non-standard repairs
  • Identifying special parts required to complete repairs (this may involve speaking to parts suppliers)
  • Testing functionality of repaired devices.
  • Recording notes on job-sheets regarding repair, including noting parts used and operation of device testing after repair.
  • Monitoring & maintaining spare parts inventory.

To be successful you must: 

  • Have a positive attitude and a passion for technology.
  • Have a personal interest in repairing mobile phones, tablets and similar devices.
  • Be totally reliable, take pride in your work & enjoy providing great customer service.
  • Have good time-management skills, good manual dexterity and a steady hand.
  • Be well presented and be able to speak clear, conversational English.
  • Be a permanent resident or have a valid Australian visa with the right to work full-time.
